Comcast will open its first Xfinity retail store in Chicago’s west suburbs later this summer in Oak Brook, IL. To be located at 3041 Butterfield Road, Suite 101, in the Oak Brook Promenade shopping center, the new 5,000-square-foot space will be designed to give visitors real life, hands-on demonstrations of Xfinity’s range of products and services, from cable TV, high-speed Internet and home phone services, to the company’s home security and home automation platform, Xfinity Home. The store also will feature iPads and other mobile devices visitors can use to explore Xfinity’s Android and iOS apps. Apps range from Xfinity TV Go, which allows customers to watch live TV, stream On Demand content and download movies and TV shows, to Xfinity Home, which allows customers to manage and monitor their homes while on the go.
“The Xfinity store gives us the opportunity to provide visitors first-hand demonstrations of our innovations in TV viewing, communications and accessing content at home and on the go, as well as the latest in home security and automation,” said John Crowley, Comcast’s Greater Chicago Region senior vice president. “In addition, we’ll have comfortable seating areas so visitors can settle in and experience Xfinity products and services as though they’re in their own homes.”
Along with product and service demos, customers can pay bills, pick up and return equipment and get assistance from trained, knowledgeable sales consultants.
“Oak Brook welcomes the Xfinity Store and its employees and is pleased that Comcast chose our community as the site of its first west suburban store,” said Oak Brook Village Manager Riccardo Ginex. “Oak Brook is a major retail destination. The Xfinity store will enhance the retail mix in the area and help us attract even more retailers and customers.”
The Xfinity Store will have about 15 employees. Store hours will be Mondays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.
