Comcast NBCUniversal Launches 2019-2020 Scholarship Program for Community-Minded High School Seniors
Leaders and Achievers program recognizes successes in and out of the classroom with $2 million in scholarships
November 14, 2018 – Comcast NBCUniversal is inviting high school seniors to apply for the Comcast Leaders and Achievers® Scholarship Program. Comcast Leaders and Achievers are students who have been selected for their outstanding community service, academic performance and leadership skills. The award, funded by the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation, is a one-time, $2,500 scholarship to be used toward undergraduate education-related expenses.
Since 2001, Comcast NBCUniversal has awarded more than $30 million in scholarships to approximately 28,000 students in locations across the nation to help them pursue higher education. Last year alone, 175 high school seniors in Comcast’s Greater Chicago Region, which includes Illinois, Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan, received scholarships.
“Leaders and Achievers recipients are not only good students, they’re committed to their communities and their neighbors.” said John Crowley, Comcast’s regional senior vice president. “Winners I’ve met in the past really inspired me, because even at such a young age, they recognize the importance of giving back, and many of them have done some amazing volunteer work.”
