New customer-focused store showcases Xfinity’s innovative technology
May 19, 2021 – Comcast today announced plans to open a new Xfinity Store in Homewood, IL, at 17741 S. Halsted St. in the Homewood Square shopping center. The new 3,000-square-foot store, which is slated to open in June, will be designed entirely around the needs of customers, providing them with the opportunity to explore, learn about and interact directly with Xfinity’s products and services, ranging from the company’s mobile phone service, Xfinity Mobile, high-speed Internet and cable TV, to its home security and automation platform, Xfinity Home. The store also features iPads and other mobile devices visitors can use to test Xfinity’s mobile apps, which include:
- Xfinity Stream, which allows customers to watch live TV anywhere at home over WiFi, watch more than 200 live channels outside their home, stream thousands of On Demand choices on-the-go and download movies and TV shows;
- Xfinity Hotspots, which allows customers to search for the network’s more than 20 million hotspots across the country and nearly 1.9 million in the region;
- Xfinity, which allows high-speed Internet customers to personalize and control their home WiFi experience; and
- My Account, which allows customers to view their bills, make payments, troubleshoot service issues and more.
“Our goal is to give customers an awesome experience,” said John Crowley, Comcast’s Greater Chicago Region Senior Vice President. “The stores give our employees the ability to demonstrate the latest Xfinity products and services and educate customers about all of their features and benefits.”

Operations and employees working at the company’s existing customer service center at 17700 Hoffman Way will transfer to the new store when it opens. Customers will be able to do anything at the new store that they could do at the service center location, and more. Along with product and service demos, customers will be able to pay bills, pick up and return equipment and get assistance from trained, knowledgeable sales and service consultants. The Hoffman Way facility will continue to house Comcast’s local technical operations and a warehouse.
