Expansion follows network investment of $1.4 billion in Illinois over the last three years, helps drive economic growth in Boone County
April 4, 2024 – Comcast announced the completion of a project to bring its residential and business services to Caledonia and Timberlane and extend its network to serve additional locations in Poplar Grove, including Candlewick Lake. Comcast’s full suite of Xfinity residential and Comcast Business services, including Internet speeds faster than a gig, are now available in these communities.

In addition, the expansion to the additional Boone County communities provides households with access to Comcast’s Internet Essentials program. Internet Essentials is a low-cost Internet service available to eligible income-constrained households. The program has helped 1.9 million Illinois residents connect to the Internet at home since it launched in 2011.
Comcast is committed to economic development in Belvidere and Boone County
Comcast also announced the completion of a fiber expansion to the industrial area in development north of Route 20, east of Irene Road and west of Appleton Road in Belvidere, following a 2021 expansion to businesses along a nearby three-mile section of US Route 20 around the industrial area at Morreim Drive and Town Hall Road.
Businesses along the expansion route now have access to Comcast Business’s broad suite of technology solutions. Overall, Comcast has invested more than $20 billion in the last five years to grow and evolve its expansive fiber-rich network across the company’s service footprint nationwide, investing $1.4 billion in its network in Illinois in the last three years alone.
