Comcast Partners with Project SYNCERE to Provide Adaptive Toys for Children of Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley
As part of Comcast’s Team UP volunteer events this past holiday season, more than 25 Comcast volunteers joined Project SYNCERE to modify and donate existing toys to children at Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley, which provides comprehensive pediatric outpatient rehabilitation services for children throughout the Midwest.
A total of 76 toys were adapted with assistive technology to allow children with physical disabilities to operate them via switch use. From bubble machines to remote control cars, Comcast’s engineering team was thrilled to play a small part in bringing holiday joy to dozens of Illinois families. The adaptive toy work was led by a team from Project SYNCERE, whose mission is to prepare the minds of underrepresented students and create pathways for them to pursue careers in STEM-related fields.
This event marked the conclusion of Comcast’s Team UP efforts in 2024, as the company’s always-on volunteer program supported non-profits and community organizations across its Greater Chicago Region – from working the Northern Illinois Food Bank 5k to helping Cradles to Crayons pack 35,000 backpacks of brand-new school supplies before the start of the school year for Chicago Public Schools students.
