Comcast Celebrates Latino Media, Culture, and Connection During NAHJ Conference in Chicago

As Chicago hosted the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) Conference & Expo in July, Comcast NBCUniversal, NBCU Academy and Telemundo held a vibrant dinner and discussion to celebrate the Latino talent and storytelling that has redefined the media and entertainment landscape. The dinner also celebrated the culmination of Comcast NBCUniversal’s sponsorship and activations at NAHJ, specifically NBCU’s one-day workshop experience that offered powerful conversations and immersive workshops with award-winning journalists at NBC News, NBCU Local, Telemundo, CNBC, and MSNBC.

The 60-person dinner and discussion, attended by prominent social media influencers, media members, and Comcast leaders was highlighted by a panel titled ‘Latinos in Media, Shaping the Story on Screen and Off’ moderated by NBC News correspondent and anchor Gadi Schwartz and featured legendary Telemundo Sports Commentator Andres Cantor as well as Belissa Escobedo and Pablo Castelblanco, Actors of NBC’s Happy’s Place. The panel explored cultural authenticity, representation, and the growing influence of Latino voices across live events, sports, and film.

In addition to the panel, Lisette Martinez, Vice President of Field Sales and Operations for Comcast’s Central Division, showcased Xfinity’s latest programming and entertainment products that are bringing Latino consumers closer to their favorite content – such as the Xfinity Latino Bundle, which combines internet, mobile, and NOW TV Latino services into a single package. The streaming portion of the bundle includes 30+ channels of Spanish-language entertainment, supported by Xfinity’s bilingual voice remote.
