December 20, 2019 – The holidays recently came early for 20 Hoffman Estates High School students.
On December 12, Comcast surprised the students with new iPads during a digital safety training at the company’s Schaumburg office. The 20 Hoffman Estates High School students are participants in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago’s “Beyond School Walls” program.
Beyond School Walls is a unique workplace mentoring program through which companies give back to their communities by hosting students from area schools in real-life work environments. The program introduces youth to the corporate world and shows them the requirements needed to achieve professional success, all while building a strong and supportive mentoring relationship.
Comcast partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago and Hoffman Estates High School to provide one-to-one mentoring to aid students in personal and leadership development. Comcast employees serve as “Bigs” and meet with their “Littles” at the Comcast office twice a month.

This past week, Comcast doubled down on their commitment to defending young people’s potential by this incredible donation of iPads to help students in the Beyond School Walls program bridge the digital divide.”
