New customer-focused store showcases Xfinity’s innovative technology
February 17, 2021 – Comcast has expanded its retail store presence in the area with a new Xfinity Store in Peoria at 5038 N. Big Hollow Rd. in the Glen Hollow Shopping Center. The 5,100-square-foot store is designed entirely around the needs of customers, providing them with the opportunity get help with their existing service if they need it and to explore, learn about and interact directly with the latest Xfinity services. This is the company’s second store in the Peoria area.
The store features contemporary displays designed to give visitors first-hand experience with Xfinity’s range of products and services, from the company’s mobile phone service, Xfinity Mobile, high-speed Internet and cable TV, to its home security and automation platform, Xfinity Home. The store also features iPads and other mobile devices visitors can use to explore Xfinity’s mobile apps. Apps range from: Xfinity Stream, which allows customers to watch live TV anywhere at home over WiFi, watch more than 200 live channels outside their home, stream thousands of On Demand choices on-the-go, download movies and TV shows; and Xfinity Hotspots, which allows customers to search for locations of the network’s more than 19 million hotspots across the country and nearly 1.8 million in the region; to Xfinity, which allows high-speed Internet customers to personalize and control their home WiFi experience; and My Account, which allows customers to view their bills, make payments, troubleshoot service issues and more.
“The store gives Peoria-area customers the chance to learn all about and experience our products and services firsthand,” said John Crowley, Comcast’s Greater Chicago Region senior vice president. “Our employees are trained experts and can educate customers about all of their features, as well as troubleshoot service issues.”
Along with product and service demos, customers are able to pay bills, pick up and return equipment and get assistance from trained, knowledgeable technology and service consultants.
“The Glen Hollow Shopping Center and surrounding area is a vital retail corridor, and the presence of an Xfinity Store will help attract even more visitors from Peoria and the surrounding communities,” said Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis. “I’m pleased that store employees will be able to give Comcast’s Peoria customers personalized in-person assistance and address and resolve service issues that arise.”
